Job Description

The Marketing Specialist is responsible for ensuring cohesive campaigns that lead the YouVersion Community to action through various mediums like in-app, email, blog, and social media. Collaborating with copywriters, project managers, and creative teams, this role executes overall strategy with precision. The position supports Life.Church's mission to reach people for Christ by leveraging marketing skills to deliver outcomes aligned with team direction. YouVersion, a ministry of Life.Church since 2007, aims to encourage and challenge people to seek God through biblically-based experiences, fostering a journey towards becoming who God made them to be.
Must have:
  • Steward marketing executions through strategic planning and collaboration.
  • Represent Marketing team for strategic campaigns.
  • Maintain strong brand awareness and industry expertise.
  • Inform team on audience segmentation and communication strategy.
  • Partner with Product and Growth teams.
  • Partner with Hub leaders for local initiatives.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends and leverage technology.
  • Move ideas from brainstorming to strategic plan.
  • Own Marketing Strategy creative brief.
  • Analyze and report on key campaign metrics.
  • Bring clarity and project next steps to the team.
  • Ensure timely information sharing with stakeholders.
  • Keep information and resources organized.
  • Effectively present ideas with vision.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Effective multitasking and time management.
  • Strong writing, editing, and proofing skills.
  • Ability to self-motivate, make independent decisions, and problem-solve.
  • Ability to manage conflict and differing opinions.
  • Effective process and organizational management.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, communications, or related field.
  • 1-3 years of related work experience.

Job Details

The Marketing Specialist is primarily responsible for ensuring campaigns are cohesive and lead the YouVersion Community (a diverse global audience who engages with YouVersion both in‐app and through external mediums such as email, blog, and social media) to action. Working alongside a team of copywriters, project managers, and collaborating with creative and product teams, the Marketing Specialist ensures the execution of the overall strategy is done with precision and care. This role utilizes their skillset to deliver outcomes that align with the direction of their team to further Life.Church’s mission and to reach people for Christ.

YouVersion was created by the local church in 2007 and remains a ministry of Life.Church today. At Life.Church, our mission is to lead people to become fully devoted followers of Christ. What You’ll Do

    • Steward marketing executions through strategic planning and collaboration.
    • Represent the Marketing team to develop strategic campaigns for assigned products and audiences to encourage individuals to engage with God’s Word.
    • Maintain a strong awareness of the brand position of assigned product lanes and uses industry expertise to keep a pulse on the competitive landscape.
    • Assist in informing the team related to audience segmentation and communication strategy based on data.
    • Partner with YouVersion Product and Growth teams to develop strategies in alignment with the overall objective.
    • Partner with Hub leaders to equip their local initiatives and to ensure they understand priorities and objectives for flagship moments, like Christmas, New Years, and Holy Week.
    • Stay ahead of industry trends and constantly evaluate how YouVersion can leverage existing and emerging technology and platforms to advance engagement.
    • Move ideas and concepts from the brainstorming phase to a cohesive strategic plan, working alongside Project Management and other Marketing team members.
    • Own the Marketing Strategy creative brief, ensuring overall direction and accurate and clear specifications are included.
    • Analyze and report on key campaign metrics.
    • Working alongside Project Management, bring clarity and project next steps to the team you’re assigned to.
    • Ensure information is shared with key stakeholders in a timely manner.
    • Keep information and resources organized and accessible to team.
    • Effectively present ideas with vision and direction.

Skills Needed to Succeed

    • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills to foster relationships and partnerships. 
    • Effective at multi-tasking and time management to meet strict deadlines while remaining flexible and open to change.
    • Storing writing, editing, and proofing skills.
    • Ability to self-motivate, make independent decisions, and problem solve.
    • Ability to manage conflict and differing opinions while maintaining composure.
    • Effective at process and organizational management to coordinate, structure, and provide vision to projects. 
    • High School Diploma or GED.
    • Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, communications, or a related field.
    • 1-3 years of related work experience.
