Job Description

The IOS II Engineer role is part of the AI Agent Tech team, which sits within the Inspire and Plan Engineering organization. This team is building multi-modal experiences using AI to help travelers inspire, discover, and plan their travel. You will contribute to the development of iOS applications and features. You will be responsible for promoting best practices, ensuring modular and scalable design and architecture, collaborating with senior engineers, setting high standards for monitoring and operational excellence, optimizing iOS applications for performance and usability, and collaborating with various teams to improve customer experience within the iOS platform.
Must have:
  • Minimum 2 years as an iOS Engineer.
  • Proficiency in Swift programming and experience developing large-scale iOS applications.
  • Knowledge of iOS frameworks like SwiftUI, Cocoa, Combine, and RxSwift.
  • Experienced in designing and maintaining robust and scalable features.
Good to have:
  • Experience with A/B testing and Event Frameworks.
  • Experience developing backend services using RESTful APIs, Kotlin, and GraphQL is a plus.
  • Proficiency in other programming languages such as Java, Kotlin, or Python is a plus.

The IOS II Engineer role is part of the AI Agent Tech team, which sits within the Inspire and Plan Engineering organization. This team is helping build intuitive multi-modal experiences by leveraging AI to help travelers inspire, discover and plan their travel through personalized recommendations and help scale the experience from inspiration to shopping and booking travel. In this role, you will collaborate with a larger cross-functional group to design and develop scalable solutions while driving innovation within the mobile ecosystem.

In this role, you will:

  • Development: Contribute to the development of iOS applications and features, providing value to travelers and increasing usage and feature adoption.

  • Best Practices: Promote best-in-class mobile practices within the organization.

  • Design & Architecture: Play a critical role in ensuring modular and scalable design and architecture of iOS apps.

  • Collaboration: Work with senior engineers to develop state-of-the-art design and quality.

  • Standards: Set high standards for monitoring and operational excellence, understanding challenges faced by customers and improving their experience.

  • Optimization: Optimize iOS applications for performance and usability.

  • Visual Design: Ensure that visual design is meticulously up to spec and unique iOS capabilities are leveraged for a truly native experience.

  • Teamwork: Collaborate with back-end developers, designers, and product owners to constantly improve customer experience within the iOS platform.

Experience and qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum 2 years as an iOS Engineer.

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent professional experience.

  • Development: Proficiency in Swift programming & past experience developing large-scale iOS applications.

  • Frameworks: Knowledge of iOS frameworks such as SwiftUI, Cocoa, Combine, and RxSwift.

  • Architecture: Experienced in designing, creating, and maintaining robust and scalable features using industry-standard architectures like MVVM, VIPER, and common design patterns (Factory, Strategy, Adapter, etc.).

  • Testing: Particular about writing highly unit-testable code.

  • CI/CD: Experienced in working with CI/CD powered iOS repositories. Familiarity with tools like Xcode and Figma is highly desirable.

  • Teamwork: Experience working in a cross-functional Agile team.

  • Testing & Frameworks: Experience with A/B testing and Event Frameworks.

  • Backend Development: Experience developing backend services using RESTful APIs, Kotlin, and GraphQL is a plus.

  • Additional Languages: Proficiency in other programming languages such as Java, Kotlin, or Python is a plus.

The total cash range for this position in Seattle is $112,000.00 to $156,500.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $179,000.00, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.

Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, available budget, and an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
