Description
The Producer leads cross-discipline teams on game development projects and acts as the central point of contact between clients, studio leadership, the project team, and all stakeholders. This role ensures development is coordinated so projects are delivered on-time, on-budget, and meet or exceed quality expectations. The Producer executes a variety of tasks and key management objectives related to the development of assigned software products, from concept, to release and/or live operations.
Key Responsibilities
Day-to-Day
- Act as primary point-of-contact for customer stakeholder(s)
- Identify and manage against project success goals
- Collaborate with studio leadership and finance to align strategic goals and tactical measures
- Procure project-related Software and equipment
- Own outsourcing contract planning, negotiation, and management
- Own the estimation, budgeting, planning, prioritization, and scheduling of tasks related to the development of software projects, from concept to release and live operations
- Track resource allocation, expenditures, project schedules and corresponding budgets against contractual commitments
- Project financial tracking and reporting
- Identify critical path risks and issues, then develop and implement mitigation plans as necessary
- Identify, drive implementation, and improve project development pipeline and workflow
- Provide regular project status and financial reports, communicate progress and risk to studio leadership
- Provide clear project vision, goals, and objectives to project team and stakeholders
- Facilitate communication and coordination for internal and external project resources to eliminate roadblocks and ensure successful SOW completion
- Work with your project team and QA to manage bug assignment, priority-setting, and progress towards resolution
- Complete regular project retrospectives/post mortems
- Provide project demos and interviews as needed
- Effectively contribute to department processes and best practices
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Must-Haves:
- Previous experience with video game development, including at least two shipped titles, with at least one of those from inception to launch
- Proactive mindset
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Exceptional project management practices and software expertise
- Ability to provide critical feedback on projects against goals and strategies
- Ability to resolve conflicts both on the team and between the team and other stakeholders

- Curiosity about customer needs, the gaming industry as a whole, and other PW projects
- Ability to maintain composure and poise in a stressful, fast-paced, ever-changing dev environment
- Capable of working with and managing a team in a hybrid (mixture of on-site and off-site) work environment

- Deep understanding of the development process in all discipline areas

- Motivated by careful, objective, & detail-oriented work
- Ability to motivate a team to perform at a high level
- Adept use of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Jira, and Confluence, including generating reports and charts
Nice-to-Haves:
- Strong interest in the industry and a desire to create high-quality interactive experiences with an eye toward a successful product launch
- Experience with Live Operations in a Production role
- PMI PMP Certification
Education & Experience:
- At least 3 years of experience in a software development Producer and/or Project Manager role
- Education: Certificate of completion of Game Development (e.g. LCC, Full Sail) or any University degree
