The Workday subject matter expert will be responsible for maintaining, designing, and innovating changes specific to their functional area(s). They will engage with multiple teams and contribute to providing robust solutions against business priorities, ensuring system compliance. Key responsibilities include being a Subject Matter Expert for Workday Reporting & Analytics, translating business requirements into technical specifications, and ensuring platform compliance. The role requires meticulous attention to detail, the ability to challenge demands, staying updated on Workday releases, and managing multiple projects. Strong communication skills, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities are essential. The specialist will work closely with cross-functional teams and contribute to internal tools and initiatives.
Must have:
  • Experience with Workday Reporting & Analytics.
  • Expert knowledge of Workday custom reports and dashboards.
  • Strong knowledge of Workday Security/cross-functional architecture.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.

They will engage with multiple teams at local, regional or global level and contribute to providing robust solutions against business priorities, and in line with the wider technical strategy, whilst ensuring system compliancy.

Job Description:

Key responsibilities:

  • Subject Matter Expert for Workday Reporting & Analytics functionality, understanding of other modules, and general Workday system capabilities. 
  • Ability to analyze business requirements and translate them into technical specifications.  
  • Meticulous attention to detail, especially when configuring Workday and managing data. 
  • Ability to challenge demand requests and provide alternatives when appropriate 
  • Stays up to date on Workday Releases/new features/patches, assessing their impact for dentsu and is able to advise stakeholders accordingly. 
  • Ensures platform compliancy. 

 

Skills and Experience -

  • Overall 12+ years’ experience out of which 4+ years of experience in Workday platform and related ecosystem
  • Experience in gathering requirements, design, configuration, and testing of Workday Reporting & Analytics solutions.  
  • Expert knowledge of Workday Custom Reports, Dashboards and Analytics, Insights, Discovery Boards, Eligibility Rules, Accrual Calculations, Business Processes, Calculated Fields, Surveys, MOM, Purge reports and EIBs, Scheduling, Web Services. 
  • Strong knowledge of Workday Security/cross-functional architecture and testing strategies.  
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and initiatives simultaneously. 
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral. 
  • Ability to interact and collaborate effectively with the business and co-workers in a positive manner that engenders confidence and trust. 
  • Good problem solver with ability to consider alternative and diverse perspectives. 
  • Works closely with cross-functional teams, including HR, Finance, and IT, to ensure seamless integration between Workday and other systems. 
  • Contributes to the development of internal tools, methodologies, and knowledge sharing initiatives to enhance the Workday platform. 
  • Exposure to Workday downstream integrations to ERP/CRM systems and associated challenges 
  • Workday Certification(s) would be preferred.
  • Experience of other Workday Analytics modules - Prism, Extend 
  • Exposure to Integrations such as Payroll. 
  • Experience of at least one end to end Workday implementation project. 
  • Certifications such Certified Agile Product Owner, Certified Agile Scrum Master etc. 
  • Experience within a large, global organisation.
