Job Description

The Product Owner role is within an agile development team, working directly with engineering teams to define and prioritize the product backlog. This individual will ensure the development team understands the product vision and goals, translating business priorities into actionable user stories and driving the product's success. Responsibilities include developing and maintaining a prioritized product backlog, collaborating with the Product Management team on the product vision and roadmap, and communicating product updates to stakeholders. The role also involves participating in engineering SCRUM ceremonies and working closely with the development teams to deliver valuable product increments.

Good to have:
  • Minimum 2 years experience as a Product Owner or similar role.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in an Agile software development organization.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.

Job Description

Please note this is a twelve month fixed term contract, based out of the Edinburgh office on a hybrid basis.

The Product Owner is a crucial role within our agile development teams, working directly with engineering teams day-to-day as  part of the Product Management group. This individual will be responsible for defining and prioritizing the product backlog, ensuring that the development team understands the vision and goals of the product as defined by the broader Product Management team. The Product Owner will be the primary liaison between stakeholders and the development team, translating business priorities and feature targets into actionable user stories. They will drive the product's success by making informed decisions and ensuring alignment with the overall product strategy.


What this role involves:

  • Develop and maintain a prioritized product backlog, ensuring it reflects stakeholder needs and business value.

  • Work closely with the development teams to ensure the delivery of valuable product increments.

  • Collaborate with the Product Management team to define the product vision, roadmap, and strategy.

  • Partner with your Product Manager to refine the roadmap and break down features.

  • Collaborating with engineering, product management, UX, and other Motorola teams.

  • Communicating product updates, progress, and risks to stakeholders.

  • Participating and leading engineering SCRUM ceremonies.

Preferred Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years experience as a Product Owner or similar role.

  • Minimum 5 years experience in an Agile software development organization.

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
