Job Description

The Sound Designer I at NST supports senior sound designers in creating and adjusting sound assets for game production. Responsibilities include collaborating with the audio team, composers, performers, and engineers for music production, participating in music asset creation and editing, and utilizing Nintendo's sound production tools. The role requires proficiency in sound effect creation, music theory, and some live music experience. Testing and ensuring high-quality, timely delivery are crucial aspects of this hybrid position in Redmond, WA.

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:

  • Supports senior sound designers in creating sound assets for production, as well as adjusting existing sound assets to meet project requirements.
  • Works with senior members of the audio production team to support coordination with composers, performers, and recording studio engineers for music production.
  • Participates in the creation and editing of music assets as required.
  • Utilizes and maintains proficient knowledge of required commercial and Nintendo proprietary sound production tools.
  • Applies professional expertise to review, analyze and test products under development as a contributing member of a production team to ensure delivery of Nintendo’s high standard of quality and timeliness.

 
SUMMARY OF REQUIREMENTS:
  • Knowledge of interactive music development and sound effect creation.
  • Experience in using standard tools for sound effect creation and editing.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of music theory and composition.
  • Some experience with performing, coordinating, or conducting live music.
  • Undergraduate degree in music or sound design; or equivalent education and experience.
 
This position is hybrid in Redmond, WA. Hybrid positions require regular onsite work following the schedule and guidelines for their division. This position is not open to fully remote status at this time. 
 
This position includes a base salary range of $70,098- $105,148 annually, potential for a semi-annual discretionary performance bonus, and a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and paid time off.
