Summary

As Director, Software Engineering at Infoblox, you'll lead a team in Bangalore, reporting to the VP in Santa Clara. Responsibilities include providing technical direction, designing and implementing software solutions, collaborating on feature development from concept to release (including testing), recruiting and managing a team, monitoring daily tasks, managing customer issues and SLAs, and staying current on technologies like containers and Kubernetes. You will work on Infoblox's SaaS platform using GoLang and contribute to all phases of the software development lifecycle.
Must have:
  • 20+ years software development experience
  • 8+ years managing software teams
  • Microservices architecture & container experience
  • GoLang, Java, Python, or C/C++ experience
  • Agile development experience
Good to have:
  • AWS experience (EC2, VPC, etc.)
  • DNS protocol and networking knowledge
  • DNS/DHCP experience
  • Master's degree in Computer Science

We are looking for a Director, Software Engineering to join our SaaS team in Bangalore, India, reporting to the VP of Software Engineering in Santa Clara, USA. In this role, you will manage a team of engineers and work closely with the rest of the Engineering organization to build our SaaS platform. You will manage various ongoing efforts, including feature development, defect analysis, resolution, and software release management. You will also work on cutting-edge technology of Containers and GoLang with a highly collaborative team that will help you learn and grow in your knowledge of SaaS platforms.   
       
You are the ideal candidate if you are technically driven, and you enjoy working with large, distributed team and driving quality solutions and deliveries on schedule.
 
What you’ll do: 
         
  • Provide technical direction to engineers, including developers and leads
  • Design and implement timely, high-quality software solutions to customer issues for Infoblox core products
  • Work on features from concept to release through all phases of development, including functional, design specifications, implementation, unit, performance, and scalability testing
  • Collaborate with various cross-functional Product teams
  • Recruit, build, develop, and manage the team, and mentor junior engineers
  • Monitor the team's daily tasks and track and deliver key initiatives and projects, ensuring they comply with quality standards
  • Manage all aspects of software development, including requirements gathering, design, development, and testing of software
  • Manage customer issues, escalations, and tracking customer SLAs closely
  • Coordinate and communicate with clients and internal stakeholders
  • Stay current on key trends, especially in technologies and frameworks like Containers, Kubernetes, Docker, AWS Cloud, etc.
What you’ll bring:  
        
  • 20+ years of experience in software development with at least 8 years of experience managing a software development team
  • Experience in microservices architecture and container-based software using Kubernetes, Docker, and other container technologies is a huge plus
  • Experience with programming languages such as Go Lang, Java, Python, and/or C/C++
  • Experience with Amazon Web Services, such as EC2, VPC, ELB, S3, CloudFormation, etc. is a plus
  • Knowledge of DNS protocol and general networking concepts, and knowledge of Unix/Linux environments
  • Experience working on an agile development process
  • Full software development life-cycle experience with a proven track record of shipping software
  • Results-oriented with a solid work ethic and excellent attention to detail and quality
  • Experience with DNS, DHCP is a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, CE or EE required, master’s degree preferred
