Overview
This role will be responsible for working with potential customers primarily in the retail industry to discover business needs, and to develop and present Services implementation timeline, approach and budget.
Responsibilities
- Works closely with the customer in discovery sessions and ongoing follow-up discussions to ensure clear and concise communication is taking place
- Provides value to the Sales Manager or Solutions Manager during a sales cycle
- Works with Services and marketing to develop collateral on implementation approach and promote events and trade shows
- Prepares extensively prior to a sales engagement with internal business areas i.e., Sales Mgmt, Services Reps, CRM ensuring maximum efficiency once the sales engagement begins
- Becomes directly involved with potential customers via requests for proposals.
- Engages with customers and prospects in short consulting assignments.
- In collaboration with Sales Manager or CRM/CE, presents product functionality and benefits to prospective clients
- Customizes presentations to address prospective client’s business needs
- Demonstrates how the proposed methodology can add substantial value in replacing or enhancing the clients current business environment
- Articulates and demonstrates the value proposition of solutions and Services to the prospective client
- Establishes relationships with the key decision makers to facilitate a successful sales outcome
- Works closely with the customer in discovery sessions and ongoing follow-up discussions to ensure clear and concise communication is taking place
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge and experience base in the core principles and methodologies of Supply Chain Planning with around 5 + years implementing, presenting and delivering Supply Chain Planning Solutions a plus.
- Experience in creating or developing business processes, strategies and philosophies for the various Supply Chain Planning Solutions - enabling process suppliers and retailers
- Experienced in working with various solution provider systems that address some or all of the processes relating to Supply Chain Planning.
- Ability to learn and expand quickly into other solution areas such as Merchandise Financial Planning, Assortment Planning and Category Management.
- Technical proficiency in Excel, Access and ability to write SQL queries for analyzing data.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
- Ability to travel (up to 80% travel).
