The Account Manager is a supervisory role responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with clients and group companies, securing projects, and overseeing their operations, quality, and delivery to ensure smooth project progression. You will collaborate with various internal and external stakeholders to meet client expectations, focusing on ensuring quality and profitability. You will communicate closely with the Group Account Director to understand resource allocation and manage profitability.
Must have:
  • Manage relationships with clients and group company representatives.
  • Confirm and negotiate project scope, objectives, deliverables, duration, costs, and risks.
  • Monitor project progress, identify delays, and drive projects forward.
  • Create proposals and ensure work adheres to rules and guidelines.
  • Collaborate with producers to build and manage project profitability.
  • Identify project risks, predict countermeasures, and coordinate with producers.
Good to have:
  • General understanding of production processes in digital imaging and video production
  • Design experience

Role:

The Account Manager is a supervisory role responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with clients and group companies, securing projects, and overseeing their operations, quality, and delivery to ensure smooth project progression.

You will collaborate with various internal and external stakeholders to meet the expectations of clients and group company representatives, focusing on ensuring quality and profitability.

You will communicate closely with your reporting line, the Group Account Director, to understand internal and external resource allocation and manage profitability.

Additionally, the successful candidate is required to have native-level Japanese communication skills and business-level English communication skills.

Main Responsibilities:

Play a crucial role in managing relationships with clients and group company representatives.

  • Understanding Scope:

Confirmation and negotiation of the scope, objectives, deliverables, duration, costs, and risks.

  • Progress Management:

Monitor whether projects are progressing as expected or if delays are occurring, and drive projects forward. Report status to your superior and consult as needed.

  • Quality Control:

Creation of proposals, checking that work is performed according to established rules, decisions, and guidelines.

  • Budget Management:

Not calculating yourself, but collaborating with internal producers and external parties to build and manage profitability.

  • Risk Management:

Identify risk areas in project progression, predict necessary countermeasures, collaborate with producers, and accumulate necessary costs and resources.

Required Conditions:

  • 5+ years of account management experience in the advertising or production industry.
  • Japanese proficiency - Native level.
  • English proficiency - Business level or higher (reading, writing, conversation).
  • Ability to work in a demanding and fast-paced creative production environment. Flexibility is important in this role, and overtime and weekend work may occur depending on the project.
  • Deep understanding of print production processes is desirable.

  • Design experience is a plus.
