DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
Translates written and verbal communications (i.e. emails, technical documents, presentations, and other materials related to software development and/or game design documents); provides cultural context.
Chooses the equivalent expression in the target language that fully conveys and best matches the meaning intended in the source language (referred to as congruity judgment).
Manages various tools and upkeeps database and contributes to improve usability and efficiency.
Provides interpretation for multi-party conference calls of up to three hours with short notice.
Supports the team and assists in scheduling, planning, and preparation of materials.
Receives briefings or prepares through reading and study on subject to be discussed prior to interpreting session.
Maintains a detailed knowledge of internal policies, guideline procedures and workflows, and applies this to modify work practices and processes accordingly.
Coordinates with internal and external groups on status updates to support short to long-term planning.
Performs all job responsibilities in strict adherence to corporate prototype security policy and procedures.
Provides excellent customer service to internal and external contacts.
May act as an informal resource for team members with less experience.
Manages daily workflow and processes and leads team discussions.
SUMMARY OF REQUIREMENTS:
Four to five years of related experience.
Intermediate to high level of proficiency in MS Office applications.
Comprehensive understanding of Japanese business culture and etiquette.
Extensive knowledge of video game software/hardware and industry strongly preferred.
Excellent verbal and written communication and relationship building skills, problem solving and cross-group collaboration.
Ability to multi-task and maintain confidentiality with fluctuating priorities and deadlines.
Interpretation experience strongly preferred.
Articulates a shared vision to build effective teams while promoting teamwork across various groups.
Valid passport may be required for international travel
Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language, Communication, Business, or equivalent.
Native level in verbal and written communication in English and Japanese.
Applicants must be legally eligible to work in the United States to be considered. Visa sponsorship is not available for this role.
This position is hybrid in Redmond, WA. Hybrid positions require regular onsite work following the schedule and guidelines for their division. This position is not open to fully remote status at this time.
This position includes a base pay range of $37.26 - $59.62 per hour, potential for a semi-annual discretionary performance bonus, and a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and paid time off.
