Job Summary

Job Description

A CNC Operator oversees daily manufacturing machinery functions, including running pre-operation tests, loading, unloading, and inspecting parts. They are responsible for part quality, achieving production standards, de-burring, polishing, and cleaning parts. They also inspect machinery at the end of each shift for repairs.
Must have:
  • Operate CNC machines with routine supervision
  • Perform basic math calculations, including addition and subtraction of decimals
  • Maintain dimensional tolerances between "".0003 ""-.005 "" or greater
  • Interpret basic dimensions on a print
  • Utilize precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, gauge pins, etc.
  • Load, unload, and inspect parts being machined while maintaining published PPH
  • Operate a minimum of 1 bar feed lathe, or a Mill along with performing secondary operations
  • Maintain accurate part counts, fill out Box Tags, and Job/Quantity Tracker
  • Report and ask supervisor/lead for assistance with any machining problems
  • Follow documented operator procedures such as inspection check sheets and posted operator notes
  • Maintain a clean work area and observe all safety procedures
  • Execute machine offsets and insert changes with direction of supervisor or lead-person
  • Produce parts with less than 2% scrap rate on a consistent basis
  • Check and maintain machinery daily to ensure functionality
  • Practice safe work habits, maintain clean working environment, and perform routine preventative maintenance and other duties as directed
  • Effective time management and organizational skills
  • Detail oriented and capable of multi-tasking
  • Excellent judgment and decision-making capabilities
  • Safety oriented
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

Position Summary:

A CNC Operator, or CNC Machine Operator, is responsible for overseeing the daily functions of manufacturing machinery. Their duties include running tests before the start of operations, Operator will load, unload, and inspect parts during the machining process. Operator will be responsible for the quality of the parts being produced and for achieving production standards. This position requires de-burring, polishing, and cleaning parts at the machine on some work. Inspecting machinery at the end of each shift to identify parts needing repair.

Education:

  • HS graduate or equivalent.

Experience:

  • No experience required. 1+ yrs. prior experience preferred working with controls and instrumentation, equipment maintenance

Schedule:

  • 1st Shift Mon - Fri (7 AM - 3:30 PM)
  • 2nd Shift Mon - Fri (3 PM - 11:30 PM)
  • 3rd Shift Sun - Thurs (11 PM - 7:30 AM)

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

Activity

Constantly - 6+ hours : Stand, Walk, Twist/Turn, Stoop/Bend, Squat, Kneel

Frequently - 3 to 6 hrs. : Lift to 50 lbs.

Occasionally - 1 to 3 hrs. : Reach above shoulders
