Job Description

This position is to develop the strategy for, and to actively manage and develop the sales within China. This includes planning of sales initiatives and directly leading and managing the implementation of sales strategies and initiatives in order to meet the company targets regarding growth and profitability.   • Respond to customer inquiries and prepare quotations.
  • Negotiate and review contracts and amendments.
  • Ensure timely usage of customer supplier portal.
  • Consolidate with Finance Engineering/Tooling/Cash/Past Dues.
  • Track and ensure timely payment of recoveries.
  • Participate in Customer Value Management initiative.
  • Travel to Customer and PHINIA sites as required.
  • Lead and track employee safety KPI.
  • Develop and track safety training plans.
  • Prepare safety supplies and handle emergency process.
  • Organize and encourage safety culture activities.
  • Proven sales/key account management in automotive.
  • Proven experience in global, multicultural company.
  • Strong leadership and strategic thinking capabilities.
  • Previous business planning/program management experience.
  • Good knowledge of financial dimensions of business.
  • Demonstrated negotiation skills.
  • Ability to build strong relationships.
  • Team player.
  • Fluent in Chinese and English.
  • Willingness to travel.
  • Computer capabilities (Microsoft Office etc.).

JOB PURPOSE

This position is to develop the strategy for, and to actively manage and develop the sales within China. This includes planning of sales initiatives and directly leading and managing the implementation of sales strategies and initiatives in order to meet the company targets regarding growth and profitability.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Job Responsibilities:

  • Along with the VPGM, contribute to the development of the China sales strategy, translating the Group/Regional strategies into actionable strategies and initiatives in China.
  • Ensure profitability of the customer base.
  • Develop strong relationships with key customer organizations across the functions (Purchasing, Engineering, Project, etc) including Senior Executive management levels through active marketing of the PHINIA innovative product range and enhance the image of PHINIA.
  • Propose/implement/maintain/support creation and update of PHINIA’s Product Line sustainable growth strategy for China through:
  • Understanding and communicating Customers vehicle and engine roll-out plans.
  • Identify future business opportunities.
  • Have good knowledge of the China market portfolio and prices and increase profitability by optimizing price, increase value to the customer and define costs targets.
  • Participate in profitable and sustainable growth of the China business by meeting Bookings, Revenue, Cash & Profit Enhancement targets at each customer.
  • Prepare detailed China volume and revenue forecasts by product line for PHINIA annual budget and business plans.
  • Ensure the PHINIA Sales & Marketing procedures, processes and policies are adhered to and utilized.
  • Communicate, interface with PHINIA Product teams, Business Lines and Plants to ensure Customer’s expectations are addressed and necessary support/resources are allocated for business opportunities when in line with PHINIA’s business expectation.
  • Support the business case (with sales related data) for the new and active projects and presentation on the DPRG thorough close exchange with the team and maintenance of applicable database.
  • Ensure customer inquiries are responded to and commercial quotations for new business opportunities as well as for technical and/or process changes are prepared in a timely manner.
  • Negotiate & review the terms of contracts and amendments including development support, as well as purchase agreements in close cooperation and support of multi-functional team members as required.
  • Ensure timely usage of customer supplier portal as required for business interactions.
  • Ensure proactive consolidation with Finance Engineering / Tooling / Cash / Past Dues recoveries, track them and ensure timely payment.
  • Participate in and support Customer Value Management initiative.
  • Travel to Customer and PHINIA sites as required by business needs.
  • Lead and track employee safety KPI; Develop safety training plans for employees and track their completion; Prepare with appropriate safety and emergency supplies and handle emergency process; Organize and encourage employees to participate in the safety culture activities.

Job Requirements:

  • Technical or Commercial bachelor’s degree and above.
  • To have an industrial and/or engineering background.
  • Proven sales/key account management in the automotive field.
  • Proven experience in a global, multicultural company.
  • Strong leadership and strategic thinking capabilities.
  • Previous business planning / program mgt / gas product experience in a customer focused business/commercial environment.
  • Good knowledge of the financial dimensions of the business.
  • Demonstrated negotiation skills.
  • Ability to build strong relationships.
  • Team player.
  • Fluent in Chinese and English.
  • Willingness to travel.
  • Computer capabilities (Microsoft Office etc.).
