Must have:
  • MBA degree
  • 10+ years of experience in product management, program management, product marketing, business development, or technology
  • 6+ years of team management experience
  • 6+ years of experience in the Gaming industry
Good to have:
  • Proven experience with subscription products

DESCRIPTION

Amazon is seeking a Head of Business Planning and Operations to lead strategic and operational planning and monetization initiatives across our Luna and Prime Gaming platforms. This leader will drive the rhythm of the business, long-range planning, investment prioritization, and performance insights to help us scale into a global gaming leader.
In this highly cross-functional role, you will partner with leadership across the organization including Marketing, Finance, Product, and Business Development, as well as Amazon corporate functions to align strategy, forecast growth, and accelerate business outcomes. This is a unique opportunity to shape how we invest, innovate, and grow in a fast-changing, player-obsessed industry.


Key job responsibilities
• Strategic & Operational Planning
o Lead annual and multi-year planning across studios, publishing, and services.
o Define and drive the strategic operating plan, ensuring alignment with Amazon’s broader priorities (e.g., Prime, AWS, Twitch).
o Partner with finance and leadership to set long-term revenue targets, P&L strategy, and investment frameworks.
• Business Performance Insights
o Develop analytics and dashboards to track game and service performance, customer acquisition, engagement, retention, and monetization.
o Identify trends, risks, and growth opportunities across first- and third-party titles.
• Rhythm of the Business
o Own operating cadences including weekly and quarterly business reviews (WBRs/QBRs), OP1/OP2 planning cycles, and strategic deep dives.
o Prepare leadership narratives for senior leadership and Amazon corporate stakeholders.
• New Business Modeling & Portfolio Analysis
o Drive scenario planning and opportunity sizing for new products, markets, platforms, and monetization models.
o Lead business case development for new game initiatives, M&A opportunities, or third-party partnerships.
• Generative AI and Data Automation
o Evaluate current data management processes and identify opportunities to leverage Gen AI technologies to improve efficiency, accuracy, and automation.
o Conduct research and analysis to understand the latest Gen AI tools, capabilities, and best practices applicable to the company's data management needs.
o Develop a strategic plan to implement Gen AI-powered solutions to streamline data collection, processing, analysis, and reporting for business reviews.

The Gen AI & Strategic Initiatives team is a cross-functional team pioneering AI-powered features that elevate gameplay and drive player engagement in exciting new ways. This team works at the intersection of cloud gaming, AI, and interactive entertainment, building experiences that will change how games are played, developed, and enjoyed by millions.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- MBA
- 10+ years of product or program management, product marketing, business development or technology experience
- 6+ years of team management experience
- 6+ years experience in Gaming industry

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Proven experience with subscription products

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $178,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $307,900/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
