The Inside Sales Representative is responsible for driving sales by understanding customer needs, promoting relevant products and services, and maintaining strong customer relationships. This role involves a blend of direct sales, account management, and customer service. Responsibilities include engaging with customers, identifying their needs, recommending products, and maintaining customer relationships. They must also submit accurate orders, keep management informed, address customer complaints, and collaborate with internal teams. They will also be proactive in identifying new customers and collaborating with the field sales team. The role requires strong interpersonal, customer service, and organizational skills. The representative will also be involved in sales meetings to align with team goals and strategies.

Inside Sales Representative

Position Summary:

The Inside Sales Representative is responsible for driving sales by understanding customer needs, promoting relevant products and services, and maintaining strong customer relationships. This role involves a blend of direct sales, account management, and customer service, contributing to both new customer acquisition and the satisfaction of existing clients. You will also collaborate with internal teams and keep management informed of sales activities and results.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Sales and Customer Engagement:
    • Engage with customers and leads through various channels to understand their product or service requirements.
    • Identify customer needs and recommend suitable products and services to meet those needs.
    • Service existing accounts, secure orders, and establish new accounts through strategic outreach and planning.
    • Maintain communication with current and past customers, informing them of new offerings, service updates, and relevant enhancements.
    • Submit accurate orders based on price lists and product information.
    • Keep management informed through regular activity and results reports (e.g., daily call logs, weekly work plans, monthly/annual analyses).
  • Customer Relationship Management and Support:
    • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through proactive communication and effective relationship management.
    • Address and resolve customer complaints by investigating issues, developing solutions, preparing reports, and making recommendations.
    • Interact with customers via telephone, email, or online chat to provide comprehensive support and information about products or services.
    • Handle customer inquiries and complaints, escalating complex issues as necessary.
  • Inside Sales and Business Development:
    • Proactively identify and initiate contact with potential new customers.
    • Collaborate with field sales team members to understand customer needs and identify sales opportunities.
    • Offer tailored discounts, promotions, and account management services to enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty.
    • Present relevant product information aligned with customer needs to achieve sales targets.
    • Maintain accurate records of sales activities and customer interactions by updating the system daily.
    • Participate in sales meetings to align with team goals and strategies.
    • Cultivate strong customer connections, including potential field visits to strengthen relationships and assess unique needs.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on larger sales initiatives as required.

Position Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Experience: Related experience preferred.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

  • Frequent Travel is required.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
