Activision is seeking a Sr. Specialist, Benefits and Mobility to manage immigration, relocation, and employee benefits across its Shanghai business, expanding to other APAC countries. Responsibilities include serving as a point of contact for immigration and relocation inquiries, managing new hire immigration cases, ensuring continued work authorization, developing internal processes for permanent residency, and collaborating with internal partners to streamline cross-functional processes. The role also involves managing relocation benefits, providing training and updates, conducting relocation surveys, partnering with the benefits director on APAC benefits administration and systems projects, ensuring lifecycle benefits data accuracy, running annual flexible benefits selection processes, and administering holiday and absence leave. The ideal candidate possesses at least 4 years of experience in a similar role and is bilingual in English/Mandarin, demonstrating expertise in global mobility and employee benefits.

Job Description:

ABK is looking for a Global Mobility Specialist and Benefits Analyst to join our team. The position will focus mainly on immigration, relocation and employee benefits across our Shanghai business and then extending to other APAC countries such as Korea, Japan, and Taiwan.  

Required – Bilingual in English/Mandarin – speak/write/translate

Ideal candidate would be a subject matter expert in all things Global Mobility (immigration and relocation; tax is a plus) and Employee Benefits. Must be bilingual in English/Mandarin. It’s extremely important you are a team player who can adapt to a fast-paced and ever-changing environment to be successful.
Day to Day

Serve as point of contact for day-to-day questions regarding immigration, relocation, and processes from internal stakeholders (foreign nationals, HR, Legal and managers). Come to the team with an open mind and ideas to improve the global mobility program. Most importantly, have fun while working hard.

Immigration

  • Serve as the point of contact for HR Business Partners and Talent Professionals to assess if sponsorship for potential candidates is a requirement
  • Manage new hire immigration cases by partnering with outside immigration partner and manage expectations from start to finish
  • Familiar with APAC Immigration requirements/process
  • Work with current employees to ensure continued work authorization including amendments, extensions, and permanent residency
  • Continuously communicate timeline with the various parties involved - employee, manager, HR Business Partners, and Director, Global Mobility
  • Partner with Director, Global Mobility to develop and own the internal process for permanent residency requirements and ensure we follow all country specific immigration compliance requirements and documentation.
  • Collaborate with internal partners such as HR Operations, HR Business Partners, Recruiting, Payroll, Legal, Corporate Tax, Finance and Accounting to create solutions on streamlining cross-functional processes
  • Data integrity a must. Ensure and maintain immigration data is accurately maintained in Workday and other systems and work in conjunction with the broader HR Operations team advising on immigration compliance and audits when needed
  • Provide general information, education, and guidance to HR Business Partners, Talent Professionals, and candidates regarding requirements for entry to specific country that are in line with immigration regulations
  • Maintain Global Mobility intranet site for APAC, which will include but not limited to, process workflows, policy guidelines, and other necessary resources

Relocation

  • Serve as the point of contact for HR Business Partners and Talent Professionals to assess relocation benefits and requirements
  • Continue to build strong relationship with relocation partner and sub vendors
  • Work closely with peers, HR Operations and HR Tech to develop a more streamlined approach as it relates automating relocation benefits via Workday
  • Provide ongoing training/updates to HR Business Partners, Talent Acquisition and Senior Leaders as it relates to relocation benefits and/or immigration
  • Conduct relocation surveys via survey tool bi-annually

Employee Benefits

  • Partner closely with the benefits Director and the APAC HR team on key initiatives in both APAC benefits administration and systems and some benefits projects
  • Ensure lifecycle benefits data is managed correctly enrolling new employees into company benefits plans and local social insurances
  • Run annual flexible benefits selection processes from end to end including design, calculating annual eligibility amounts, partnering with payroll, designing and delivering communications, data processing, policy compliance and ensuring timely provider updates
  • Deliver other employee perks and wellbeing plans
  • Be a first point of contact specialist for employee benefits onboarding including annual medical checkups and general benefits queries
  • Work with finance to track budget and spend for employee benefits plans including calculation’s for social insurance and allowances
  • Administer and holiday and absence leave in systems including data reporting

What It Takes to Succeed

  • At least 4 years of experience in a similar role and able to demonstrate knowledge and/or experience in Global Mobility and employee benefits
  • Comprehensive knowledge of benefits administration, communications, and systems
  • Work independently and take initiative to provide consultation to all levels of staff
  • Partner closely and align with global mobility team across EMEA and US
  • Excellent communication & relationship building skills
  • Must be able to effectively manage and prioritize multiple tasks
  • Knowledge working with tax, legal, payroll, benefits, on potential issues related to cross border movement is a plus
  • Experience managing external partners/vendors
  • Best in Class customer-service focused
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Effective and concise verbal and written communications skills. Must be able to communicate difficult messages in a clear and concise manner
  • Ability to demonstrate complete discretion when handling sensitive and confidential information.
  • Familiarity with HR systems, e.g. Workday, Workday Recruit and MS Office
  • Bachelor Degree or above
