The Customer Business Analyst (Sales Planning Analyst) at Nintendo of America analyzes sales data, develops forecasts, and communicates insights to optimize sales plans and retail replenishment. This role involves partnering with stakeholders, utilizing retailer-specific software and market data, preparing sales analyses, and proactively identifying business opportunities. Responsibilities include managing sell-through forecasts, collaborating across departments, creating presentations for executive audiences, and continuously improving forecasting processes. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, experience with forecasting methodologies, and proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.

Team Summary: Within the Business Analytics & Planning (BAP) Department, the Retail Insights team is responsible for forecasting and general analysis of Nintendo of America key retail accounts such as Walmart, Target, Best Buy, Amazon, GameStop, etc. with a focus on physical retail including consoles, accessories, and first party games.  

  

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
  • Analytical expert that performs sales analysis, develops forecasts, and communicates insights to help optimize sales plans and retail replenishment for new product launches, sales opportunities and supply recommendations across all accounts/products.
  • Partners with stakeholders to develop and execute analysis, utilizing retailer-specific software, market share data, and sell-through data.
  • Prepares sales analysis for assigned accounts and stays up to date on current industry trends and market activity.
  • Proactively surface business opportunities to stakeholders and provides insights and analysis in support of NOA business objectives.
  • Collaborates across multiple departments and stakeholders to understand business goals, develop reports and dashboards, and provide valuable insights to decision makers.
  • Actively manages sell-thru forecasts and models for use in downstream processes including retail replenishment planning and purchasing decisions.
  • Incorporates relevant information to provide the "bottom-up" perspective including insights related to individual retailers and SKUs.
  • Forecasts and analyzes promotional lift for individual retail activities and actively collaborates with internal partners.
  • Creates sell-thru forecasts for new product launches including analysis of comparable products, customer share trends and presell data.
  • Provides supporting data and prepares presentations to communicate insights to an executive audience.
  • Initiates continuous improvements of forecasting process including model updates, process change and incorporation of new data elements.

SUMMARY OF REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience in data analytics, forecasting/planning or a comparable analytical role, with a strong understanding of forecasting methodology, market dynamics and consumer trends.
  • Excellent analytical skills, with demonstrated abilities in forecasting, understanding statistical models and synthesizing data from multiple sources.
  • Demonstrated ability to integrate and synthesize information from multiple data sources.
  • Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills. 
  • Proficiency in Tableau and SQL preferred.
  • Demantra experience is a plus.
  • Retailer vendor web portal experience is a plus (e.g., Retail Link and/or Partners-On-Line).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Data Analytics, Sales Operations, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

This position is hybrid in Redmond, WA. Hybrid positions require regular onsite work following the schedule and guidelines for their division. This position is not open to fully remote status at this time.
  
 
This position includes a base salary range of $77,500 - $124,000 annually, potential for a semi-annual discretionary performance bonus, and a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and paid time off. Please see our  for more benefits information.
