We are seeking a talented Enterprise Business Development Executive with a commercial insurance background to join our team at Marsh in Dublin. This hybrid role requires working at least three days a week in the office. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial insurance, potentially as a Client Advisor or Broker, or in Commercial Underwriting. Responsibilities include developing and executing new business acquisition strategies, supporting the Enterprise Team with broking services for SME clients, identifying client needs and providing effective insurance solutions, managing client accounts, handling new business inquiries, building client relationships, preparing submissions, conducting risk marketing, driving SME business growth, and contributing to project work. The role also requires maintaining an understanding of market conditions and complying with corporate procedures.

Description:

We are seeking a talented individual to join our Enterprise Business team at Marsh. This role will be based in Dublin. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

This is a perfect role for someone with a strong background in commercial insurance, having worked in a Client Advisor or Broker type role or within the Commercial Underwriting and looking to move into a new and exciting role within an established, market leading insurance broker. This role will be based in our Dublin office.

We will rely on you to:

  • Work closely with the Enterprise Team and Practice Leader, develop and deliver a new business acquisition strategy targeting opportunities by sector and geography
  • Support Enterprise team colleagues in delivering day to day broking insurance services to the portfolio of SME clients in relation to all classes of cover.
  • Understand potential client business issues, needs and expectations and identify an appropriate risk profile to deliver effective insurance solutions for new clients
  • In collaboration with the Enterprise Team Leader, work on all aspects of account management and service delivery to clients, ensuring client needs are identified and met in line with agreed service standards.
  • Provide day to day on new business enquiries including invoicing, issue of cover notes, and documentation within the agreed time scales.
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients, prospects and client teams to provide best in class service.
  • Prepare comprehensive new business submissions and conduct thorough risk marketing exercise to effectively present clients’ needs and secure optimal insurance solutions.
  • Drive the growth of SME business by selling additional products and services to existing clients, thereby enhancing their coverage and strengthening client relationships.
  • Support Enterprise Team Leader and colleagues with project work and other work where required.
  • Maintain a detailed understanding of changing market conditions and understand and comply with all corporate procedures, compliance and professional standards, to better serve our clients.

  • Minimum Qualification: Commercial CIP
  • Excellent IT Skills (including Excel and Word)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Articulate with strong client facing and stakeholder management abilities
  • Accuracy with good attention to detail and ability to check work of self and others
  • Ambitious nature and a keen contributor within a team environment
