Job Description
The Product Technical Manager is responsible for applying specific PDP following CLEAN Project Management, ensuring robust design within economic targets, and adhering to standardization rules. This role involves leading design reviews, representing the R&D function to customers, and managing customer requests. The manager also handles detailed scheduling and budgeting, identifying resource needs, establishing activity breakdowns, and tracking spending. Additionally, the role includes daily management of R&D contributors, assigning work packages, and ensuring alignment with R&D and Product Managers.
Must have:
- Apply specific PDP following CLEAN Project Management.
- Ensure robust design aligned with economical targets.
- Apply standardization rules; justify de-standardizations.
- Call for and ensure timely design reviews.
- Represent R&D function to customers.
- Interface with customers for R&D subjects.
- Break down and cascade customer requests internally.
- Report and escalate to project/R&D manager.
- Contribute to identifying resource, equipment, investment needs.
- Establish detailed activity breakdown for milestones.
- Follow activities and spending to meet budget.
- Daily manage all R&D contributors.
- Assign work packages to contributors.
- Regularly review with R&D/Product Manager and Discipline Department Managers.

Job Details
Accountable for the deliverables:
- Apply the specific PDP of his/her PG/PL following CPM (CLEAN Project Management)
- In charge of the robust design in line with the economical targets
- Applies Standardization rules, exceptionally will request de-standardizations based on sound justifications
- Call for all necessary design reviews
- Make sure that Design Reviews of other networks are happening in a timely manner (Purchase, Industrial)
- Represent the R&D function at the customer
- Interface with the customer for the R&D subjects of the project, break down and cascade internally customer requests and needs
- Report and escalate to his project manager or R&D manager as needed
Responsible for the detailed scheduling and budgeting
- Contribute to the identification of the needs in terms of resources, equipments, investments
- Establish detail break down of the activities to meet the milestones
- Follow activities and spending of his scope to meet his allowed budget
Management of the contributors
- Daily management of all R&D contributors, dedicated or not
- Assign to them the work packages needed
- Regular review with his/her R&D manager or Product Manager and the Discipline Department Managers to check alignment between needs and availabilities
