ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
Wind River is seeking a talented, ambitious, and self-motivated Business Development Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate is eager to learn and help shape the future of our products, solutions, and ultra-reliability standards, delivering exceptional performance and efficiency. This role involves developing new markets and business opportunities across Korea and the APAC region.
INTERFACE & COLLABORATION
Report directly to the VP of Strategic Sales for Emerging Technologies. Collaborate with Sales Account Managers and Field Application Engineers to generate new market demand and develop business strategies for Wind River solutions.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Planning and setting strategic initiatives for Edge, AI/ML, and Enterprise Linux Operating System business opportunities across all verticals in Korea and the Asia-Pacific region.
- Developing strategies to expand our product offerings to new customers and markets, considering mid- to long-term growth.
- Conducting market analysis based on insights from existing Edge, AI/ML, and Enterprise OS customers and local distributors.
- Collaborating closely with the Product Management and Engineering teams to address customer requirements and resolve product issues.
- Gaining a thorough understanding of customers' business needs and proactively proposing solutions to address Linux software challenges.
- Identifying and developing new business opportunities in Edge and Enterprise Linux OS, while monitoring competitor activities and market dynamics.
- Leading pre-sales activities, marketing campaigns, and technical events throughout the APAC region.
- Develop and nurture strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders to ensure customer satisfaction, foster retention, and support long-term business growth.
- Prepare and deliver engaging sales presentations and product demonstrations tailored to client needs, clearly communicating the value and unique advantages of Wind River’s solutions.
- Demonstrating Wind River’s DevOps Platform and capabilities with the field technical team in APAC.
- Building strong partnerships with major OEMs in Korea.
- Supporting DevOps opportunities across the APAC region.
- Leading pre-sales activities, marketing campaigns, and technical events in APAC.
- Developing strategic initiatives with the Global Partnership & Ecosystem (GP&E) team, engaging with silicon vendors, cloud providers, SIs, OEMs, ISVs, and distributor channels.
- Formulating global go-to-market strategies focused on revenue growth and scalability alongside the GP&E team.
- Regularly gathering forecasts, pipeline updates, and feedback while closely collaborating with the Global VPs of Industrial, Automotive, and Strategic Sales Programs.
ABOUT YOU
Core Competencies & Demonstrated Success
Minimum 8+ years’ experience selling software products/services
- Understanding Edge Computing, AI/ML, Enterprise computing environments, Linux OS, and related edge cloud technologies is crucial because this role involves developing business plans and strategies for Edge and Enterprise Linux OS opportunities. It also requires working closely with technical teams to meet customer needs in the Linux software area.
- The role encompasses business development and sales activities, including closing orders, exploring new regions, achieving sales targets, fostering strong relationships with major customers, and leading field teams. A successful candidate should have a proven track record of increasing deal sizes and developing new business independently.
- Excellent communication skills in native Korean and fluent English, with confidence in engaging with senior executives and decision-makers of key customers.
- Strong understanding of Edge and Enterprise computing environments, including Linux OS such as Debian/Ubuntu, openSUSE, CentOS, Fedora, along with related edge cloud technologies and ecosystems.
- Proven track record of increasing deal size and consistently achieving or exceeding MBO/Quota targets.
- Ability to accurately assess and align with customer requirements.
- Skilled in developing product and account strategies, and capable of managing and executing new business initiatives with minimal supervision.
- Self-disciplined team player with a proactive attitude.
- Ability to leverage and coordinate resources effectively to maximize results.
