Job Description

Ansys, now part of Synopsys, is seeking a Lead Program Manager to steward critical enterprise investments and drive strategic and transformational change. This role involves providing leadership and direction to assigned programs within the Mechanical, Structural, or Electronic business units. The manager will oversee all aspects of large, complex programs, including requirements gathering, business case creation, and implementation, while managing risks and ensuring alignment with business priorities. Candidates can be remotely based within Spain.
Must have:
  • Provide overall program leadership, guidance, and manage all aspects of large, complex programs, including requirements gathering, business case creation, and implementation
  • Provide steady leadership in the face of uncertainty, change, and aggressive deadlines
  • Manage overall program risks and oversee respective mitigation strategies
  • Develop resourcing strategies to ensure optimum support for projects and for the day-to-day operational activities
  • Proactively set performance expectations and manage expectations of delivery and requirements, yielding consistent results
  • Review program budget variance and scope change requests, and participate in the budget-resolution process
  • Ensure that the scope of the projects within the program align with business priorities
  • Manage program-level risks and interdependencies
  • Promote collaboration and coordination across broad categories of stakeholders
  • Lead cross-functional meetings and foster teamwork; drive escalation and resolution of issues
  • Support, coach and mentor team members
  • Provide technical expertise in planning, execution, and leadership of program, projects, and initiatives
  • Directly facilitate program steering committee meetings and conduct periodic briefings/status updates to various levels of the organization for assigned areas
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) certification
  • A minimum of 8 years of project management experience including large-scale complex projects OR equivalent management experience
  • Strong leadership skills within a matrix organizational structure, along with mature business acumen and industry knowledge
  • Proven ability to build and lead integrated teams from various internal and external organizations across multiple sites
  • Adept at helping team members harness and develop strengths in pursuit of successful program outcomes
  • Ability to achieve broadly communicated objectives with a minimal amount of supervision
  • Ability to promote innovative ideas and accept the risks that are required to lead change
  • Ability to make decisions independently and to assume higher-level leadership responsibilities in critical situations
  • Excellent negotiation skills to facilitate discussions and reach conclusions among peers and team members with differing opinions
  • Strong analytical and financial skills
  • Ability to innovate under new and/or changing conditions
  • Proven problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Effective consultative and influencing approach
  • Ability to maintain focus on deliverables while maintaining flexibility and responsiveness to variables during execution
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and proven ability to work effectively with all organizational levels
  • Virtual and remote team leadership capability

Summary / Role Purpose

The program manager is responsible for stewarding critical enterprise investments and driving the delivery of strategic and transformational change by providing leadership and direction to assigned programs for either of our Mechnical, Strutural or Electronic business units. We have 3 positions available, candidates can be remotely based within Spain only.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide overall program leadership, guidance, and manage all aspects of large, complex programs, including requirements gathering, business case creation, and implementation
  • Provide steady leadership in the face of uncertainty, change, and aggressive deadlines common to a rapidly growing company with an evolving business model
  • Manage overall program risks and oversee respective mitigation strategies
  • Develop resourcing strategies to ensure optimum support for projects and for the day-to-day operational activities

Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree
