Divisions Maintenance Group (DMG) is seeking a Staff Accountant I to assist with the month-end close process. This role involves preparing journal entries, reconciliations, financial statements, and performing account analysis. The Staff Accountant will also be responsible for sales tax filings and other routine reporting. Job Summary:

The Staff Accountant will assist with month end close process, including, but not limited to, journal entries, reconciliations, Financial Statement preparation, account analysis, sales tax filings, and other routine reporting. This individual will also work closely with staff and management across the organization on various projects and initiatives to improve processes and procedures to further drive the growth and success of the company.

 

What You'll Do:

  • Prepare for monthly journal entries, detail account analysis, account reconciliations, account roll-forwards, budget vs. actual analysis, and all other tasks required to close month-end on a timely basis and maintain G/L account integrity.
  • Help ensure detailed transaction data (i.e., profitability) is accurately captured and reported by identifying unreconciled data.
  • Assist in preparing monthly cost center financial reporting.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual bonus and commission reports and calculations per the various individual sales incentive plans for all Field and National Account Sales teams.
  • Support the preparation of internal and external reporting conforming to GAAP; review daily cash reporting and updates to cash forecast.
  • Work closely with finance and non-finance organizations (including but not limited to Sales, Marketing, HR, and IT) on various projects and initiatives.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by management.

 

What You Need:

  • Bachelor of Science in Accounting or Finance.
  • Proficiency at Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience with Great Plains and/or Microsoft CRM is a plus.
  • Basic knowledge in Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) standards, codes, and concepts.
  • Exhibit strong organizational skills with a proven ability to manage multiple projects and/or processes.
  • Demonstrate self-motivation, capable of taking initiative.
  • Highly analytical and detail-oriented with an inquisitive ability to problem solve.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, project management and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage the stress of a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to meet the in-person requirements of the team and/or business needs.
