The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in technical sales, they will possess a business background that enables them to drive customer engagement at the executive level, and they will have a technical background that enables them to easily communicate the details of our product offerings while interacting with the technical contacts of our customers. This will be an independent contributor role.
Expectations for Success
- Hunter Role - extensive experience in identifying, qualifying and closing new customers within the Enterprise Vertical
- Ookla product focus: Downdetector
- Responsible for sales activities with new prospects
- Act as client’s primary point for onboarding new products and services
- Demonstrate product offerings and value propositions to customers via web or in-person meetings
- Actively develop and grow relationships across your customer’s business and technical organizations
- Educate and support our clients to ensure optimum utilization of our product suite
- Provide sales support to a customer base that consists mostly of seasoned technical, engineers, marketing, legal and or procurement staff
- Engage with Director and Senior executives in support of their business needs
- Partner internally with the technical account management team and sales directors to periodically review account health and identify opportunities for future growth within your accounts
- Champion and advocate for customer requirements within Ookla by being the customer’s voice internally
- Continually develop your own knowledge and application of new technologies to support and enable growth of our customers
Requirements:

- Hunter self-starter Role - extensive experience in Enterprise verticals namely Finance/Banking, and/or Gaming, and/or Large Enterprise and other non-telco verticals
- Strong experience in the IT/Service Observability domain/SOC/NOC or related
- MEDDPICC experience or consultive/solution selling experience preferred
- At least 5 years’ experience in a B2B Sales/Business Development role in the IT industry
- Ability to travel domestically to support client engagements, conferences and other
- Strong verbal and written communications skills, able to effectively communicate across all levels of internal and client organizations within diverse global markets
- Strategic account planning and execution skills
- Experience working in SFDC
- Responsible, able to manage time effectively and work efficiently, both with and without direct supervision
- Experience with negotiation of sales contracts with a consultative sales approach
- Ability to manage multiple competing priorities

As required by applicable Pay Transparency laws, Ookla provides a range for the base pay. Factors that may be used to determine your actual pay may include your specific job related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographic location. Some roles may include a target bonus or sales commission plan based on level of role. The base pay for this position ranges from $75,000/year up to $150,000/year in base salary.
