The Director of Client Sales will be responsible for developing new business partnerships within the Life and Health insurance industry, overseeing the entire advertiser sales cycle from prospecting to deal closing. Responsibilities include developing partnership strategies, managing the deal cycle, preparing presentations, uncovering opportunities, negotiating contracts, and providing excellent customer service. The candidate will also provide market intelligence and product feedback to internal stakeholders. This role requires a seasoned industry professional with a strong network in the Insurance sector, a deep understanding of life and health insurance products, and a proven track record of exceeding revenue goals.

Job Category

We are looking to bring on a seasoned industry professional to be our Director of Client Sales within our insurance vertical, dedicating majority of the time developing new business partnerships within the Life and Health industry. As the Director of Client Sales, you will oversee the entire advertiser sales cycle from prospecting to deal closing. The ideal candidate will come with a strong existing network in the Insurance sector and have a deep understanding of the various life and health insurance products. The Director of Client Sales should have a history of demonstrated success in understanding partner needs, negotiating terms, and managing contract redlines processes to execution. In addition to growing your own book of business, you will help define and implement our sales strategy and provide guidance on priorities in a dynamic space.

 

Responsibilities

  • Work with the GMs of Life and Health Insurance to develop a partnerships strategy
  • Work with the insurance vertical teams to develop a partnership strategy
  • Own all aspects of the deal cycle – from initial prospecting to signed deals, to building sound forecasts, managing internal communications, and ensuring a successful handoff to the Account Management team
  • Prepare and deliver effective presentations, including working with creative to develop marketing decks
  • Find creative ways to uncover opportunities and strengthen relationships
  • Move proposals to contract drafting and negotiations, manage an efficient and high quality redlines process through to contract execution
  • Provide best-in-class communication and customer service to partners, and be seen as a trusted thought partner
  • Provide market intelligence and product feedback to internal stakeholders

Requirements

  • 5+ years experience closing large opportunities with strategic partners
  • Existing Health and Life Insurance experience is a big plus.
  • Existing insurance experience, Health and Life knowledge is a big plus
  • Experience with performance marketing strategies, Clicks, Leads, Calls, etc.
  • A track record of exceeding revenue goals
  • Consultative approach to selling, with an ability to understand a partner’s needs and develop solutions
  • Experience negotiating contract terms and closing deals
  • High-degree of executive presence
  • Strong written, verbal and presentation skills
  • Highly motivated, driven, and passionate about partnerships
  • Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, Salesforce or similar applications
  • Established industry relationships and experience working with executive level business and marketing leaders a plus
  • 20-30% travel

The expected salary range for this position is $120,000 USD to $150,000 USD annually. This salary range is an estimate, and the actual salary may vary based on the Company’s compensation practices. The salary may be adjusted based on applicant's geographic location. The position is also eligible to receive performance bonus or commission and equity in the form of restricted stock units. This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s standard employee benefits programs, which currently include health care benefits; (2) retirement benefits; (3) the amount of paid days off (paid sick leave, parental leave, paid time off, or vacation benefits); (4) any other tax-reportable benefits.
